Prof (Dr) Michael Lim, an internationally acclaimed cardiologist, is actively involved in heart disease treatment, research and training. He is currently Medical Director of Singapore Heart Stroke and Cancer Centre, Senior Medical Advisor and Honorary Professor at Peking University Heart Centre, Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board, Asia Pacific Heart Association and Editor-in-Chief, Heart Asia (Publication of British Medical Journals). He graduated from the Faculty of medicine, National University of Singapore, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and has other postgraduate qualifications including Master in Internal Medicine, Singapore, Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Cardiology), Member of the Royal Colleges of United Kingdom (MRCP), Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh (FRCP), Fellowship in Diagnostic Angiography and Interventional Radiology/Cardiology, Shadyside Hospital, USA. His past appointments include Dean of the College of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, President, Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, Board Member, World Heart Federation, Board Member, Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology, President, Singapore Cardiac Society, Medical Director, JPMC Gleneagles Cardiac Centre, Brunei Darrusalam. Dr Lim was also a Member of Parliament of Singapore for 15 years and has sat on many government committees including Government Parliamentary Committees on Health and Communications. He was also Chairman of a town council and also chaired committees overseeing the physical development of a few towns. He has also sat on the Boards of several private and public listed companies.
